Sheriff's Narcotics Detectives Arrest Meth Dealer
Orcutt - March 6th, 2012
Sheriff’s narcotics detectives have arrested a 59-year old man who was selling methamphetamine near Lakeview Junior High School in Orcutt.
Over the past three weeks, narcotics detectives have been investigating William Pearce Tyler (DOB 7/31/52) who was suspected of selling the drugs from his motor home which he parked on the 3600 block of Orcutt Road.
During the investigation, narcotics detectives, operating in an undercover capacity, purchased methamphetamine from Tyler on two separate occasions while school functions were taking place. At this time there is no evidence that Tyler sold drugs to any students.
On Monday afternoon, March 5, 2012, Sheriff’s narcotics detectives arrested Tyler without incident during the service of a search and arrest warrant on his motor home in the 3600 block of Orcutt Road. Tyler was found to be in possession of approximately six grams of methamphetamine and other evidence consistent with methamphetamine sales.
Tyler, who lives in the motor home, was booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail for two counts of sales of a controlled substance (11379 H&S) and sales of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school (11353.6 H&S). He is being held on $50,000 bail.
