Bodies Identified from Apparent Boating Mishap
Santa Barbara, Channel Islands - March 12th, 2012
The Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Coroner’s Bureau has identified the three men whose bodies were discovered Sunday near a capsized boat near Santa Cruz Island.
They are Sieng Sophorn Bun (DOB 11/4/74) of Oxnard, Edgar Allen Isnec (DOB 10/9/57) of Port Hueneme, and Ramiro Alvarez Duarte (DOB 4/3/59) of Oxnard.
All three men are believed to have been aboard the boat that was reported missing Sunday morning. (See U.S. Coast Guard news release at www.losangeles.uscgnews.com/go/doc/834/1334875/).
Six members of the Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Dive Team set out this morning (Monday March 12, 2012) to search for the body of a fourth man who is believed to be still in the water. The dive team will continue the search until dusk.
At this time, the Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Coast Guard are conducting a joint investigation into the incident. The Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Coroner will investigate the cause and manner of death which at this time is undetermined.
