Women Arrested for Drugs and Stolen Car
Santa Ynez - April 5th, 2012
Sheriff’s deputies have booked two women into the Santa Barbara County Jail for a number of charges, including vehicle theft and narcotics violations.
At approximately 2:07pm on Tuesday, April 3, 2012, Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the Sanja Cota Lodge on the 3000 block of East Highway 246 in the Santa Ynez Valley for a report of two females arguing.
Upon arrival deputies made contact with 20-year old Cynthia Rose Rademacher (DOB 3/31/92) of Lompoc who was still on the motel property. Rademacher told deputies that she had come to the Santa Ynez Valley with another woman who had driven her there from Lompoc.
The woman, 32-year old Misty Michelle Lopez (DOB 3/30/80) of Oxnard, had apparently driven to Lompoc in a vehicle reported stolen out of Ventura County. Before driving to the Santa Ynez Valley, the women removed the license plates from the stolen vehicle and swapped them with the license plates of another random vehicle in Lompoc.
The two then drove to the Chumash Casino in the Santa Ynez Valley where they stayed for several hours before their falling out at the motel on East Highway 246. Upon further investigation, Rademacher was determined to be under the influence of a controlled substance and was taken into custody.
A short time later, with the help of Chumash Casino Security, Sheriff’s deputies located Lopez and the stolen vehicle on casino property where she was arrested. Lopez was booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail on $20,000 bail for felony driving a vehicle without consent (10851 VC), giving false identification to a peace officer (148.9 PC), driving without a valid license (12500 VC), under the influence of a controlled substance (11550 H&S), felony possession of a controlled substance (11377 H&S), possession of controlled substance paraphernalia (11364 H&S).
Deputies booked Rademacher into the Santa Barbara County Jail for being under the influence of a controlled substance (11550(A) H&S), and possession of controlled substance paraphernalia (11364 H&S). Rademacher was cited and released on Wednesday, April 4. Lopez remains in custody.
