The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Coroner’s Office conducted an autopsy on the body of 18-year-old Giselle Esme Ayala on Tuesday morning.  The autopsy revealed that the Cal Poly San Luis Opispo student sustained injuries that are consistent with a fall.  The exact cause and manner of death will not be released until toxicology results are back in four to six weeks.  Ayala’s death is under investigation and the circumstances surrounding her death are not being released at this time.

 

Body of Young Female Found Near Campus Point Identified

The young woman who was found deceased near Campus Point at 8:20 a.m. Saturday morning has been identified.  She is 18-year-old Giselle Esme Ayala of Santa Rosa, California and a student at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.  Ayala was in town with a group of friends for Deltopia, a Spring Break party in Isla Vista.  Around 7 p.m. Saturday night Ayala’s friends reported her missing at the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Isla Vista Foot Patrol Office.  Ayala was last seen by her friends at approximately 11 p.m. Friday night.  Sheriff’s Investigators were able to confirm that she was the young deceased female that was found.  Her family and the Cal Poly Community have been notified. 

Her death is under investigation and no further details are being released at this time.
