Casmalia Resident Arrested on Drug Related Charges
Santa Barbara - May 14th, 2013
At approximately 9 a.m. on May 10th, Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office Detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division and Santa Barbara County Probation Officers were conducting a routine probation search at a home in the 2900 block of Associated Road in Casmalia. During the search, Sheriff’s Detectives came into contact with 50-year-old Joseph Vincent Davirro Jr. who resides in a camp trailer on the property. Davirro Jr. exhibited signs of being under the influence of a controlled substance and was acting irrationally. He also refused to identify himself or to comply with verbal orders.
During the protective sweep of the area, Detectives checked Davirro Jr.’s camp trailer and found evidence of methamphetamines, drug paraphernalia and a marijuana plant inside. Davirro Jr. was taken into custody and booked on the following charges:
11377(A)HS possession of a dangerous drug, 11364 HS possession of drug paraphernalia, 11358HS cultivation of marijuana, 11550(A)HS being under the influence of a controlled substance and 148(a)PC obstructing/resisting.
Davirro Jr. posted bail on Friday. His case has been forwarded to the Santa Barbara County District Attorney’s Office.
