of a court officer.
At approximately 11:50 a.m.
today, October 28, a Sheriff’s Sergeant conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in
the 4200 block of Calle Real for a minor traffic violation. Ramirez, who was
driving the car which was also occupied by a male passenger, pulled over in the
Blue Skies Mobile Home Park. The Sergeant made contact with Ramirez outside of
the vehicle and was calling for back-up when a struggle ensued. The Sergeant
was injured and transported to the hospital with moderate injuries.
Ramirez took off on foot
northbound through the mobile home park and into the adjacent St. Vincent’s

searching for Ramirez. Residents assisted deputies by pointing out his
direction of travel. He was spotted by a deputy running into a nearby
neighborhood and was apprehended and held at gunpoint in the front yard of a
residence located in the 4400 block of San Martin Way. Ramirez was taken into
custody when other deputies arrived.
