Inmate Death
Santa Barbara - November 5th, 2011
A 59-year old man arrested Friday afternoon for public drunkenness has died after becoming ill overnight while at the Santa Barbara County Jail.
At approximately 2:56pm on Friday, November 4, 2011, a Santa Barbara Sheriff’s deputy arrested Harold Lynn Salvador in Goleta for public drunkenness, without incident. Salvador, who was listed as transient with no known address, was booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail at approximately 3:31pm.
Later that night, Salvador apparently became ill and was transported via ambulance to Goleta Cottage Hospital at approximately 1:09am on Saturday, November 5, 2011. Hospital personnel pronounced Salvador dead at 2:03am.
At this time, it appears the death is the result of natural causes. There is no indication of foul play or an attempt at suicide. There will be no further information released this weekend.
