Isla Vista Foot Patrol Arson Investigation Update

Isla Vista - November 21st, 2011

Santa Barbara Sheriff’s detectives are releasing photos of graffiti that may help them find the person responsible for last week’s arson attack on the Isla Vista Foot Patrol.

Someone threw two Molotov cocktails at the IVFP at approximately 7:45pm last Tuesday, November 15, 2011. No one was hurt in the attack, but the two flaming projectiles caused minor damage to the outside of the building and a patrol car that was parked outside the building on Trigo Road.

On Wednesday, November 16, 2011, graffiti was discovered on and around Snidecor Hall which is approximately 500 yards to the north east of the IVFP on the UCSB campus. The graffiti contains references to the attack on IVFP and includes what appears to be the moniker “Crazy Irish.”

If anyone has any information regarding the graffiti and the connection to the firebombing of the Sheriff’s Substation, they are urged to call the Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Office at 805-681-4100 or the Sheriff’s Anonymous Tip Line at 805-681-4171.
