LOMPOC POLICE DEPARTMENT DUI CHECKPOINT RESULTS
SANTA BARBARA COUNTY- January 18th, 2009
The Lompoc Police Department is dedicated to keeping our roadways safe through both enforcement and education. On Saturday 1-18-09 the Lompoc Police Department conducted a DUI / Drivers License checkpoint in the 200 block of East Pine Avenue The purpose of the checkpoint was not only to detect and arrest drivers under the influence of alcohol / drugs, but also locate drivers who were unlicensed, as well as remind everyone of the dangers of impaired driving.
The following charges/arrests were made during the checkpoint:
Driving without a valid drivers license 2
Driving on a suspended license 3
Drivers evaluated for sobriety (D.U.I) 1 This person was under the legal limit
Vehicles towed for a 30-day hold 4
Vehicles towed for a 1-day hold 2
Vehicles passing thru the checkpoint 150
Warrant Arrest 1 CA warrant
D.U.I. drivers 1
Funding for this DUI checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
