Goleta Bank Robberies - Suspect Photos

Goleta- January 22nd, 2009

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department has released surveillance photos from two bank robberies in Goleta last Friday (1/16/09).

The first incident happened around 5:30pm at the Los Padres Bank on the 100-block of North Fairview. In this case the suspect displayed a handgun, confronted the tellers and demanded money. After getting an undisclosed amount of cash he fled north on foot up N. Fairview. Witnesses described the suspect as male, 5 feet 8 inches tall, 180 lbs., gray hair, wearing a black shirt, jeans and a ski mask.

In the second incident, a man walked into the Santa Barbara Bank and Trust in the Camino Real Marketplace at about one minute to 6pm, displayed a gun and demanded cash from the tellers. He also fled on foot. In this case witnesses described the suspect as male, 5 feet 10 inches tall, 210 lbs., dark shirt, jeans, ski mask and baseball cap.

Detectives believe both robberies were committed by the same man. The attached photos are from both incidents.
