Santa Ynez- March 3rd, 2010

Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Deputies have arrested a Santa Ynez  High School student for providing marijuana laced cookies to a classmate who ended up in the hospital.

On Tuesday afternoon, March 2, 2010 the Sheriff’s Department responded to Santa Ynez High School for a report of a student who needed medical attention after ingesting marijuana. That student was taken to SYV Cottage Hospital where the student was evaluated and released.

Following an investigation Deputies learned that 18-year old Rodrigo Guzman (DOB 11/28/91) had brought marijuana-laced cookies to school where he shared them with the victim and one other schoolmate during one of their classes. All three are believed to have eaten the cookies. The other students did not report getting ill.
