Santa Ynez - Child Annoyance Suspects

Santa Ynez - March 11th, 2009

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department is looking for two men who suspiciously approached two young girls in Santa Ynez.

At approximately 4:50pm on Wednesday, March 11, 2009 two girls between the ages of 8-12 years old were walking near the intersection of Faraday and Pine Streets. That’s when a car pulled up behind them on the opposite side of the street. They saw the passenger door open before a man in the passenger seat made a comment about possibly grabbing the girls. The girls immediately ran away and contacted law enforcement.

The car is described as a late model green 4-door Toyota Sedan with dark tinted windows. The two men in the vehicle are described as Hispanic male adults between the ages of 20-30 years old.

If you see the vehicle, please call 911. If you witnessed the incident or have information that may help investigators, please call Sheriff’s Detectives at 686-5000. If you wish to remain anonymous you can call the Sheriff’s Tip Line at 681-4171.

At this time it is unknown if this incident is connected to a report of a driver annoying a child in Buellton on March 6, 2009.
