Sheriff Brown Promotes Eight Deputies in Morning Ceremony
Goleta - March 24th, 2008
Santa Barbara County Sheriff Bill Brown promoted eight Sheriff’s deputies in a ceremony held at the Sheriff’s Training Facility in Goleta. The Promotional Ceremony was attended by the family and friends of those promoted, as well as a large group of Sheriff Employees on hand to congratulate their peers. The Sheriff addressed the group of those he promoted and reminded them of the importance of their leadership in the organization, and reflected on the nine characteristics of a leader that Lee Iacocca describes in his book WHERE HAVE ALL THE LEADERS GONE? ; Creativity, Communication, Character, Courage, Conviction, Charisma, Competency, and Common Sense. The Ceremony is likely the first of many to come in the next few years as the department see’s more promotions of management and supervisory personnel behind the anticipated retirements of tenured employees.
Sheriff Bill Brown would like to publicly congratulate the following Sheriff’s Department Personnel on their promotions;
- Sergeant Mark Liddi to Lieutenant
- Special Duty Deputy Sandra Brown to Sergeant
- Special Duty Deputy Jonathan Jenkins to Sergeant
- Special Duty Deputy James McCoy to Sergeant
- Special Duty Deputy Brian Parker to Sergeant
- Special Duty Deputy Martin Rose to Sergeant
- Special Duty Deputy Clay Turner to Sergeant
- Deputy Jason Grossini to Sergeant
Lieutenant Mark Liddi will assume station command duties of the Sheriff’s Solvang Station, Sergeant Sandra Brown and Clay Turner will be assigned to the Patrol Division in the North County Operations Division, and Sergeant’s Jonathan Jenkins, James McCoy, Brian Parker, Martin Rose, and Jason Grossini will be assigned to the Patrol Division in the South County Operations Division.
