Deputies Arrest Teenager for Felony Vandalism

Sheriff’s Deputies have arrested an 18-year old man following an overnight vandalism spree in which dozens of vehicles were damaged.
On Sunday morning, March 28, 2010 Sheriff’s Deputies in the City of Carpinteria were alerted that more than sixty vehicles had their tires slashed sometime between 10pm Saturday night, March 27 and 6:30am the next morning.
The crimes occurred in the part of the city that is south of the Highway 101 freeway; streets include: Linden Avenue, 8th St, Willow Place, Oak Avenue, Elm Avenue, Holly Avenue, and Palm Avenue. Some of the vehicles were parked on residential driveways, and some were parked on the street.
Deputies who arrived on scene found evidence that led them to a house on Maple Avenue in Carpinteria. Further investigation by the deputies resulted in the arrest of one person for Felony Vandalism (594b(1) PC) and Tampering with a Vehicle (10852 VC).
Gustavo Julian (DOB 8/17/91) was booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail on the above listed charges. Additional evidence was found during the investigation that may lead to more arrests.
