Sheriff's Narcotics Detectives Make Arrests
Santa Maria- April 2nd, 2009
On March 25th, Santa Barbara County Narcotics Detectives and the Santa Maria Narcotic Suppression Team, served a search warrant in the 2000 block of North Preisker Lane. As a result of the warrant, Detectives found approximately ½ oz of methamphetamine (street value of $1,400) and evidence associated with illegal drug sales. Based on the findings, Detectives arrested five Santa Maria residents.
Wesley Jones (28 yrs.) and Cody Harris (25 yrs.) were arrested for possession of methamphetamine for sale. Veronica Cuevas (22 yrs.) was arrested for possession of methamphetamine for sale and under the influence of a controlled substance.
All persons were booked into the Santa Maria Jail. Jones is being held on a no-bail parole hold, while the other two are being held without bail, on probation holds.
Santa Maria- On March 26th, Santa Barbara County Narcotics Detectives and the Santa Maria Narcotic Suppression Team, served a search warrant in the 800 block of North Broadway. Detectives seized approximately two ounces of methamphetamine, with a street value of $5,600. As a result, 18 yr. old Nipomo resident, Pedro Alavez was arrested for possession of methamphetamine for sale and conspiracy. Detectives also arrested a juvenile, from Oceano, for transportation of a controlled substance, possession of methamphetamine for sale and conspiracy.
Alavez was booked into the Santa Maria Jail with bail set at $30,000, while the juvenile was booked into Juvenile Hall.
