Sheriff's Detectives Arrest 20 Year Old in Ventura County

Santa Barbara April 21st, 2010

Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Detectives have arrested a 20-year old Santa Barbara man in connection to last Thursday’s homicide at Hendry’s/Arroyo Burro Beach.

Adrian Robles (DOB 11/26/89) is the fourth person arrested following the stabbing death of 44-year old Robert Burke Simpson at the popular beach park on April 15, 2010. Sheriff’s detectives, with the help of the Ventura Sheriff’s Department and Santa Barbara Police, captured Robles at a home in Ventura last night, April 20, 2010. Robles is currently being held for homicide in the Santa Barbara County Jail without bail.

Sheriff’s Detectives have now arrested all four suspects believed to be present during the fatal incident. However, the investigation remains open as detectives search for anyone else who may have been accessories to the crime.

The other suspects currently in custody are 21-year old Rudy Gallegos (DOB 2/10/89) for Homicide, 19-year old Brittany Danielle Weiler (DOB 4/14/91) for accessory to murder and a 17-year old female   who is in Juvenile Hall for accessory to murder.

The Sheriff’s Department would like to thank the many members of the community who contacted investigators with valuable information. In many cases, they heard about the detective’s request for information through the local media which were extremely helpful in getting that message out.

Due to the sensitive nature of the ongoing investigation, details of the case and booking photos of Rudy Gallegos and Adrian Robles are not being released at this time. However, the Sheriff’s Department intends to hold a news conference in the next two days to release more information. The media will be alerted when a time is set for the news conference.
