Sheriff's Detectives Investigate Report of Attempted Kidnapping

Hope Ranch - April 25th, 2008

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department continues to investigate the report of an attempted kidnapping from last week in the Hope Ranch area of Santa Barbara. Through our investigation, Sheriff’s Detectives believe there are circumstances surrounding this report which lead them to believe this incident to be suspicious in nature and not a hoax, although at this time, there are inconsistencies in the information being developed.

Sheriff’s Detectives and Patrol personnel continue to investigate this incident and are conducting frequent patrols of the neighborhood and surrounding area.
