Solvang Robbery / Attempted Murder
Solvang - April 27th, 2009
Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Detectives have identified a suspect and need the public’s help in identifying an accomplice in connection to a shooting in Solvang Sunday evening. Both subjects remain at large.
Just after 7:00PM Sunday, April 26, 2009 the Sheriff’s Department was notified that a 32-year old Solvang man had been shot twice in the parking lot of the Santa Ines Mission. He was taken to a local hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening wounds to his knee and arm. At this point the victim’s name is not being released.
As a result of their investigation Detectives now believe the victim was lured to the parking lot by a female accomplice as part of a scheme to rob the victim. Sometime between 4-7pm, while in a restaurant on the 400-block of Alisal Road, the victim came in contact with the female and her companion, identified as 38-year old Eddie Rojo (5-5, 170lbs, shaved head, brown eyes, tattoos on head, arms and hands).
At some point, Rojo separated from the trio before the unidentified female (white, light complexion, 22-25 years old, blue or green eyes, reddish brown hair) lured the victim to the Mission parking lot where Rojo attempted to rob the victim. During the crime Rojo shot the victim with a small caliber handgun. Both Rojo and the accomplice then fled the scene. They did not get any money.
Please see the attached photo of Eddie Rojo and the composite image of the suspected accomplice. If anyone has any information please contact Sheriff’s Detectives at 805-686-5006 or the Department’s Anonymous Tipline at 805-681-4171.
