Sheriff's Detectives Arrest Carpinteria Resident for Commercial Burglary
Carpinteria - April 30th, 2008
On Tuesday, April 29, 2008, Sheriff’s Patrol Deputies assigned to the City of Carpinteria were dispatched to an alarm call at the City Market, located at 501 Linden Avenue in the City of Carpinteria. As Deputies arrived and searched the business they discovered that the market had been burglarized, and the suspect had since fled. The initial investigation showed that the suspect had entered through a roof access, and subsequently stole approximately $14,000.00 in property and currency.
The following morning Sheriff’s Detectives investigating the Commercial Burglary, obtained information which led them to the home of 44 year old Wayne Fulton of Carpinteria. During the Interview with Wayne Fulton, Sheriff’s Detectives discovered inconsistencies in his story and ultimately determined Fulton was responsible for the crime. Sheriff’s Detectives obtained a search warrant for Fulton’s residence in which they discovered approximately $8,400.00, in addition to further evidence linking him to the Burglary. Detectives also located $800.00 in Fulton’s vehicle.
Wayne Fulton, 44 years of age and resident of Carpinteria, was arrested for Commercial Burglary. He was booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail in lieu of $20,000.00 Bail.
