Clerk Shot During Armed Robbery
Sheriff's Deputies Search for Masked Gunman

Santa Barbara Sheriff’s deputies are searching for an armed gunman who shot a gas station attendant during a robbery in unincorporated Goleta Tuesday night.
At approximately 9:18pm on Tuesday, May 18, 2010 Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a shooting at a gas station at the intersection of Hollister Avenue and Turnpike Road.
A man described as a white male, approximately six feet, 140-160 lbs, wearing all black with a beanie and bandana covering his head and face, walked into the gas station and demanded money from the clerk. After the clerk complied, the suspect shot him in the abdomen.The clerk was taken to the hospital for what appears to be non-life threatening injuries. The gunman was last seen running south on Turnpike Road with an undisclosed amount of cash.
