Sheriff's Narcotics Detectives Arrest Suspected Drug Trafficker

Santa Barbara - June 30th, 2010

Sheriff’s Narcotics Detectives have arrested a 20-year old Santa Barbara man for dealing drugs and shipping marijuana out of state for profit.

During the month of June, 2010, the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Narcotics Unit received information about a marijuana and cocaine trafficker within Santa Barbara County. The investigation concluded with a search warrant served at the dealer’s apartment in the 600 block of De La Vina St. in Santa Barbara.

During the service of a search warrant, the suspect, Santa Barbara City College student Noah DAVENPORT (DOB 11/27/89) was found to be in possession of:

• ½ ounce of cocaine packaged for sales
• ½ lb of processed marijuana packaged for sales
• Numerous Xanax pills
• Numerous LSD (Acid) tabs
• Packaging materials
• Shipping Materials

It was ascertained that DAVENPORT was purchasing marijuana one pound (16 oz) at a time at local “medical marijuana” dispensaries under the guise that it was for a personal medical condition. Instead, DAVENPORT was packaging the marijuana in quarter pound (4 oz) bags and shipping it through the United States Postal Service to numerous locations in Ohio. DAVENPORT was receiving $1,000 per ¼ lb that he shipped back to Ohio. Authorities in Ohio are currently assisting detectives with their investigation.

The Xanax, LSD tabs, and ½ ounce of cocaine packaged for sales were also located with pay/owe sheets and other items indicative of narcotics sales. Additionally DAVENPORT was found to have provided a minor at the apartment with a bindle of cocaine. The minor was released to his parents with a drug possession charge pending.

DAVENPORT was arrested Tuesday, June 29, 2010 and booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail with $30,000 bail for the following charges: 11351 H&S – Possession of cocaine for sales, 11359 H&S – Possession of marijuana for sales, 11360 H&S – Transportation of marijuana, 11378 H&S – Possession of LSD for sales, 272 – Contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
