Sheriff's Narcotics Detectives Make Arrests in Narcotics Sales and Child Endangerment Case
Santa Maria - July 9th, 2008
On Wednesday July 9th, Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Narcotics Detectives and members of the Santa Maria Police Narcotics Suppression Team conducted a search warrant in the 800 block of Raaberg in the City of Santa Maria.
During the search warrant Narcotics Detectives contacted 31 year old Charmain Montoya, 26 year old Hector Carrillo, and 38 year old Librado Solano. All three were determined to be on active parole and parolee’s at large. Narcotics detectives seized approximately 11 grams of methamphetamine, approximately $1000.00, a semi-automatic handgun, numerous used and unused syringes, and other paraphernalia associated with the sales of illegal narcotics. Also found during the search warrant was a 14 year old who was found to be under the influence of methamphetamine. In another portion of the residence Narcotics Detectives contacted 30 year old Brenda Covarrubias, and a 6 year old child. A further search of this area produced several used syringes, including some which contained suspected methamphetamine in liquid form. Both the 14 and 6 year old were taken into protective custody by Child Welfare Services.
Charmain Montoya was arrested for possession of a controlled substance for sale, child endangerment, felon in possession of a firearm, and under the influence of a controlled substance. She was booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail in lieu of no bail due to her parole violation.
Hector Carillo was arrested for child endangerment, felon in possession of a firearm, and under the influence of a controlled substance. He was booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail in lieu of no bail due to his parole violation.
Librado Solano was arrested for child endangerment, felon in possession of a firearm, and under the influence of a controlled substance. He was booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail in lieu of no bail due to his parole violation.
Brenda Covarrubias was arrested for child endangerment, possession of a controlled substance, possession of narcotic paraphernalia, and under the influence of a controlled substance. She was booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail in lieu of $100,000.00 bail.
