Sheriff's Deputies Search Neighborhood

Goleta - October 1st, 2009

At approximately 10:15am on Thursday, October 1, 2009 Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the area of Hollister Avenue and Turnpike Road for the report of a young male with a handgun.

Nearby San Marcos High School and El Camino Elementary School have been put on lockdown while Sheriff’s Deputies saturate the area.

The subject may have taken part in a physical altercation involving several people in the Turnpike Shopping Center before fleeing the scene. He is described as a Hispanic male between 16-19 years old, wearing a long white shirt and dark pants with yellow boxer undershorts, clean shaven, medium length buzz cut hair. He may be accompanied by three other teenage males all carrying backpacks.

No one has been taken into custody at this time.
