Missing Adult - Vandenberg Village Found

Around noon on Saturday, November 1, 2008 neighbors discovered Ronald Sherrill in the chaparral near Vela Way in Vandenberg Village.

Although he was disoriented and somewhat dehydrated he appeared to be in relative good health and was taken to Lompoc Hospital for evaluation.

The Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a missing man from Vandenberg Village.

51-year old Ronald (Ron) Sherrill was last seen Thursday, October 30, 2008 around 3:30am at his home on the 4000-block of Stardust Road.


Due to the circumstances surrounding his disappearance the Sheriff’s Department summoned its Search and Rescue Team Thursday afternoon to search the rural chaparral covered area near Mr. Sherrill’s home from the air and ground.

Canines and their handlers from Kern, San Diego and Nevada Counties joined ten searchers and a canine from Santa Barbara County during today’s search which turned no clues or indicators of Mr. Sherrill’s whereabouts.
