Missing Adult - Carpinteria
Carpinteria - November 8th, 2008
Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Deputies are now seeking the public’s help in locating a missing man from Carpinteria.
On Friday, 11-7-08, at 1256 hours, deputies were dispatched to the 27-hundred block of Torito Rd. in Carpinteria to check the welfare of 63-year old Jim Earl Mitchell.
An investigation determined Mitchell was not home and has not been seen since mid-day on Wednesday 11-5-08.
Neighbors report that Mitchell was acting a little out of the ordinary. There were no signs of foul play at the residence; however, the investigation did determine that Mitchell may be despondent and a danger to himself.
The department’s Search and Rescue team searched on foot and air using a helicopter and canine, but Mitchell has not been located. The reverse 911 system was also used to alert the neighborhood that Mitchell was reported missing.
If you have any information on the location of Jim Earl Mitchell, please do not approach him. Contact the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department at 692-5743 or 911.
