Sheriff's Detectives Arrest Volunteer with The Boy Scouts of America for Lewd Conduct

On December 5th, 2007, Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Detectives arrested a Volunteer for the Boy Scouts of America for Lewd and Lascivious Conduct with a minor under the age of 14. Sheriff’s Detectives were first informed of the allegations against Boy Scouts Volunteer Al Stein on December 4th, when a minor and Boy Scout came forward after telling his parents of the lewd conduct by Stein. The Lewd Conduct occurred while Stein was working with the minor at the Boy Scouts Troop 36 Christmas Tree lot located at 5875 Calle Real in the City of Goleta.
Detectives investigated the allegations from the minor and obtained a search warrant for Al Stein’s residence. As a result of the investigation Detectives arrested 28 year old Al Stein on December 5th, 2007. He was booked into Santa Barbara County Jail for 288(a) PC – Lewd and Lascivious Conduct with a Minor under the age of 14 years old and held on $100,000.00 bail and awaiting his first court appearance.
