Sheriff Brown Swears In 12 New Deputy Sheriff's
Santa Barbara - December 15th, 2007
The Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Department is pleased to announce the graduation of 12 new Deputies from the Allan Hancock College Law Enforcement Academy, class #92. During the ceremony Sheriff Brown administered the Oath of Office and the new Deputies received their official badges. In attendance were Sheriff’s Department staff and the families of the new employees. The graduation ceremonies were held on Friday, December 14th, 2007 in Santa Maria.
The graduation ceremony is a culmination of 780 hours of instruction provided through the Allan Hancock Law Enforcement Academy Staff, Local Law Enforcement, and other criminal justice entities. The intense training and education prepares these cadets for the responsibilities of serving the communities and citizens of Santa Barbara County. The graduates are: Deputy Derrick Day, Deputy Ian Doughty, Deputy Michael Emmens, Deputy George Hedricks, Deputy Byron Kies, Deputy Tami Lewis, Deputy George Moran, Deputy Ray Morawski, Deputy Robert Morris, Deputy Santos Peinado, Deputy David Valdez, and Deputy Matthew West.
