Santa Ynez Drug Store Burglary Arrest

Santa Ynez -December 28th, 2007

During the early morning hours of December 22nd, 2007, an unknown subject broke the front window of the Star Drug Company located at 3576 Madera Street in Santa Ynez. The unknown subject entered the business and then stole a large amount of pharmaceutical narcotic medications from the pharmacy shelves.

On December 27th, 2007, Sheriff’s Patrol Deputies in conjunction with Sheriff’s Detectives through investigative leads were able to identify Santa Ynez resident William Morrison 10/22/81, as the primary suspect of the Star Drug Company Burglary. The investigation led to the arrest of Morrison, who at the time of his arrest was in possession of a large quantity of pharmaceutical narcotic medication packaged for sales. A search warrant later served at his residence in the 200 block of White Oak Road, revealed additional pharmaceutical narcotic medications further linking him to the Star Drug Company burglary.

The majority of the stolen narcotic medications were recovered at the time of Morrison’s arrest and at his residence subsequent the search warrant. The narcotic medications have an estimated street value of over $100,000.00.

William Morrison was booked into the Lompoc City Jail for Burglary, Possession of Stolen Property, Possession of Narcotics for Sale, and Transportation of a Controlled Substance. He is currently being held in lieu of $500,000.00 bail.
