Suspect Arrested in Carpinteria and Montecito Copper Thefts
Carpinteria - December 28th, 2007
Sheriff’s Patrol Deputies from Carpinteria responded to a residential alarm in the 4000 block of Foothill Road. During a search of the residence and surrounding area, Deputies located a subject sleeping in a nearby parked vehicle who was identified as Timothy Perdue 03/01/76. During this contact Deputies discovered Perdue was in possession of Stolen Property and subsequently arrested.
Sheriff’s Patrol Deputies with the assistance of Sheriff’s Detectives were able to link Timothy Perdue to 4 Burglaries /or Thefts in the Carpinteria and Montecito area. Through their investigation it was learned that Perdue would steal materials such as; Copper Wire, Copper Drain Pipes, Copper Down Spouts and other recyclable material from job sites. Perdue would then sell the stolen material to a local recycling business, of which he was found to be a daily customer for the past six months.
Timothy Perdue was booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail on an outstanding Felony $40,000.00 warrant from San Luis Obispo County, in addition to Burglary, Possession of Stolen Property and several Narcotic related charges. He is currently being held in the Santa Barbara County Jail on a Probation Detainer.
