Reserve Deputy Sheriffs are civilian volunteers, men and women who are trained to assist regular Deputies in performing police functions throughout the Department.
Reserves assist in a variety of areas: Patrol, Corrections, Crime Prevention, Detectives, Dispatch, and Criminalistics, to name a few.
Being a Reserve Deputy requires no special background in the field of Law Enforcement, only a willingness to serve the comunity. Requirements to
become a Reserve Deputy are:
- 18 years or older with a High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- A valid California Driver's License
- Sound Physical and Mental Health
- Applicants must be able to pass a thorough Background Security Check
Interested volunteers will find being a Reserve Deputy exciting and rewarding, as well as being a valuable service to the community.
