Suspect Arrested for Assault with a Deadly Weapon After Standoff

Goleta, Calif. – Deputies have safely arrested a suspect for an assault with a deadly weapon after an hours-long standoff. At approximately 7:13 a.m., deputies were dispatched to the area of Encina Meadows for a stabbing that had just occurred. When deputies arrived, they found an adult male victim near a bus stop with severe lacerations. Deputies quickly located the suspect inside a residence at Encina Royale and identified her as 31-year-old Kebrina Alvarez. The suspect was transported to an area hospital for medical clearance and will be booked at the jail for assault with a deadly weapon later today.
