Goleta, Calif. – On Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at approximately 6:04 p.m., Sheriff’s deputies responded with fire and medics to the 7300-block of Hollister, near the intersection of Lowell Way for report of person down in the median of the roadway. When first responders arrived, they found an adult female pedestrian in the median who was deceased as the result of a traffic collision. Deputies contacted the driver of the vehicle at the scene, and they do not believe that drugs or alcohol were a factor in the collision.

The collision is under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office Major Accident Response Team (SMART). The release of the decedent’s identity is pending notification of next of kin.
