*Update* Missing Person Located

Duane was locate in the early evening on Friday, July 1, 2022 and is safely with his family. Thank you to everyone who was keeping an eye out for him.

Carpinteria, Calif. – The Sheriff’s Office is seeking assistance from the public in locating a missing at-risk Carpinteria man. 80-year-old Duane Terrance Hanna was last seen Wednesday, June 29, 2022, in the 2300-block of Bath Street in Santa Barbara in the early afternoon. Duane was expected to drive from that location to his home in Carpinteria, but he never arrived.

Deputies have been searching for Duane since he was reporting missing on Wednesday evening and have exhausted possible tracking methods. The Sheriff’s Office is now requesting the public’s assistance in attempting to locate Duane.

Duane Terrance Hanna is 5’07” tall, and weighs 195 pounds. He is bald and has hazel eyes. He was last seen wearing a baseball hat, blue shirt, beige shorts, and blue with white shoes. Duane left home in his gold colored 1985 Mercedes 300SD with a California license plate 2RLK854. Duane’s family says that his disappearance is out of character for him and inexplainable.

On Friday, July 1, 2022, a Silver Alert was broadcast as a further attempt to locate Duane.
