Santa Barbara, Calif. – Sheriff’s detectives are investigating a homicide involving a 17-year-old male juvenile victim. On Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at approximately 8:48 p.m., deputies responded with fire and medics to the area of San Simeon and Turnpike Road for a report of a subject down in the roadway. When deputies arrived, they learned that a victim had been stabbed and that several male subjects had fled the area prior to their arrival. The victim was quickly transported to an area hospital with serious injuries.
Sheriff’s deputies, a Sheriff’s K9 unit, and allied agencies cordoned off the area and searched for the subjects who fled, however no suspects were located during the initial search. Sadly, at approximately 9:33 p.m., the victim died from his injuries at the hospital. Sheriff’s detectives responded to the scene and have been investigating this incident. At this time, there have not been any arrests in this case.
